PIZZA CHEFS AND PIZZA RUNNERS (Scroll down for PIZZA RUNNER DETAILS)

BE THE PIZZA CHEF YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO BE.

We are looking for pizzaioli to help us run our brand new pizza kitchen in the LHG Brewpub at Finzels Reach. Initially this will involve the preparation of ingredients, mixing sourdough, scaling and shaping pizza boules, shaping, topping and baking pizza in the wood-fired oven, baking bread plus general kitchen duties that come with the role.

You must be a proactive communicable team player. A fast thinker, a grafter that understands the ABC’s of kitchen life (Always Be Cleaning). Be energetic, aspirational and keen to learn about baking and pizza making. Our dough is incredibly important to us and we need our team to understand the science and time that creating sourdough takes. We can teach you the science, you just need to bring the passion to learn! 

Longer-term, for one of the positions, we’re looking for someone who can run the pizza kitchen for us; Deal with orders, deliveries, menu selection and staff. You don’t necessarily need to have the experience right now, but we would love to work with someone who has the dedication, drive and ambition to take on the role long-term and develop the role for themselves. Let us know if you are interested in this.

For starters, we will provide you with a minimum number of hours per week at competitive wages. We’ll work out rotas to fit the people who want to work with us. We’ll give you work T-Shirts, free PIZZA and we work in a brewery so there’ll always be plenty of wine and beer.

Essential skills:

  • Being a great communicator who enjoys busy environments and working as part of a close team

  • Ability to manage competing pressures and think on your feet

  • A passion for great food and quality ingredients

  • Attention to detail and caring about every stage of the pizza-making process

  • Personable and well-presented as our pizza kitchen is on display

Preferred Skills:

  • Busy kitchen experience

  • Knowledge of sourdough and mixing/shaping dough

  • Neapolitan Pizza-making experience in a wood-fired oven

  • Sense of humour!

PIZZA RUNNERS

We are looking for pizza runners to help us out in our brand new pizza kitchen in the LHG Brewpub at Finzels Reach. Initially this will involve finishing pizzas post-bake, taking pizzas to customers in the brewpub, clearing tables, loading/unloading the dishwasher, helping out at private events and general kitchen duties that come with the role.

You must be able to think on your feet and control multiple orders during a fast paced pizza service. You must be able to think ahead, be proactive and diligent in keeping your workspace organised and tidy and utensils scrupulously clean. You must be energetic (stairs involved!), love good food, have amazing communication skills, be great with customers (you will be the face of Mission Pizza!) and able to work well as part of a team.

In the long-term we want every member of our of team to be able to shape, top and spin pizzas in the wood fired oven, so you must be keen to learn about pizza-making and excited to build up your skills in this area. This doesn’t mean you will be a pizza-chef and not front of house if you don’t want to be, we just want everyone to be able to do every job and understand it!
